Bio of Sir Fraser Stoddart:

Professor Sir James Fraser Stoddart is one of the foremost scientists in the fields of supramolecular chemistry and nanoscience, and the 2016 Nobel Laureate in Chemistry. Professor Stoddart is a pioneer in the area of mechanically interlocked molecules and molecular machines. His extensive body of work includes over 1,000 papers published in prestigious journals such as Nature and Science, with his work cited more than 140,000 times globally. His groundbreaking research has earned him more than 100 international awards and honors. In 2007, he was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II. He holds fellowships in several esteemed academies around the world, including the National Academy of Sciences, the Royal Society, the German National Academy of Sciences, the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and as a foreign member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
