报告题目:Mechanistic and Kinetic Insight on PECT Reactions at Single Crystalline Electrodes, Implications from pH, Temperature and H-D Kinetic Isotope Effects

报告摘要:
Proton coupled electron transfer (PCET) is involved in many electrocatalytic reactions which are of potential application in electrochemical energy-substance conversion, such as oxygen reduction/evolution (ORR/OER) and hydrogen oxidation/reduction (HOR/HER), oxidation of small organic molecules, NH3 generation and CO2 reduction. Reaction conditions such as electrolyte composition and solution pH have a significant effect on the kinetics of the elementary PCET process and the overall kinetics of the above-mentioned reactions. Understanding this effect can help in optimizing reactions conditions and improving the reaction activity and selectivity. Furthermore, accurate kinetic information gained from such studies are of great value in establishing, testing and improving theories for electrocatalysis. In this talk, I will discuss our new results on pH, temperature and H-D kinetic isotope effects on HER and ORR at Au(111) and Pt(111). Mechanistic and kinetic implications on such reactions as well as the criteria on how to choose the right the metrics for evaluating the intrinsic kinetics of electrocatalytic reactions will be discussed.

陈艳霞教授,1993年至1998年,在厦门大学化学系完成学士、硕士和博士学业,1999.3-2000.12,德国杜塞尔多夫大学表面和凝固态材料研究所洪堡学者;2001.12001.12,慕尼黑工业大学物理系界面和能量转换研究所博士后;2002.1-2002.3,日本北海道大学催化研究中心界面和光谱电化学实验室、日本北海道大学文部省中核机构COE研究员;2002.4-2006.12,德国乌尔姆大学表面化学和催化研究所洪堡学者;2007.1至今,中国科技大学化学物理系,合肥微尺度物质科学国家实室,教授,博士生导师。主要研究方向包括:表面电化学、光谱电化学和电催化,着重于电化学界面结构、燃料电池以及生物电化学相关的电催化反应机理和动力学的基础研究以及相关研究技术的开发。曾获得电化学青年奖、德国洪堡基金会青年学者奖学金、日本文部省COE奖学金等。
