1985: (MSc) Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter, CAS
1989: (PhD) Inorganic Chemistry Laboratory, University of Oxford, England
(Advisor: Professor D. Michael P. Mingos, FRS)
1990-1993: Postdoc Research Associate in Prof. M B Hall’s group, Texas A&M Univ, USA
Previous academic positions held (with dates):
01/1994 – 12/1998: Assistant Professor at the HKUST
01/1999 – 06/2006: Associate Professor at the HKUST
Present academic position:
07/2006 – now: Professor at the HKUST
01/2011 – now: Head of the Department of Chemistry
