嘉宾介绍:
Zhaomin Hou received his B.Sc. in 1982 from China University of Petroleum and his M.Sc. and his Ph.D. in 1986 and 1989, respectively, from Kyushu University under the direction of Professor Yuzo Fujiwara and Professor Hiroshi Taniguchi. After postdoctoral studies with Professor Hiroshi Yamazaki at RIKEN and Professor Douglas Stephan at the University of Windsor, he joined RIKEN in 1993 as a tenured Research Scientist. He is now the Chief Scientist of the Organometallic Chemistry Laboratory at RIKEN and holds joint appointments as the Group Director of the Advanced Catalysis Research Group and Deputy Center Director of the RIKEN Center for Sustainable Resource Science, and as Professor at Saitama University, Tokyo Institute of Technology, and Dalian University of Technology (Thousand Talent Program of China).
He received the Japan Society of Coordination Chemistry Award for Young Scientists (1996), the Rare Earth Society of Japan Award for Young Scientists (1997), the Progress Award in Synthetic Organic Chemistry, Japan (2000), the Chemical Society of Japan Award for Creative Work (2007), the Mitsui Chemicals Catalysis Science Award (2007), the JSPS Prize (2007), the Commendation for Science and Technology by the Minister of MEXT of Japan: the Prizes for Science and Technology (2008), the Rare Earth Society of Japan Award (2009), the Award of the Society of Polymer Science, Japan (2012), the Chinese Chemical Society Yaozeng Huang Award in Organometallic Chemistry (2014), and the Nagoya Silver Medal (2016).
His research focuses on the development of new catalysts, new reactions, and new functional materials.
