嘉宾介绍:
Dr. Ciampi has made contributions to a range of fields within physical chemistry, delivering insights into the fundamentals of electrode kinetics, mechanisms of chemical catalysis, preparation of artificial substrates for cell biology, surface chemistry of semiconductors, and development of instruments for applied electrochemical microscopy. He demonstrated that rates and equilibrium positions of non-redox and non-polar chemical reactions can be manipulated with electric fields ‒ contrary to previous widely held assumptions; this has laid the foundations for entirely new research in chemical and biological catalysis. His research on chemical catalysis at solid‒liquid interfaces has been in parallel with fundamental and applied research in electrochemistry. He has pioneered methodologies for high-resolution and real-time imaging of electrochemical events, and highly original work on charge transfer at semiconductors; all of this has advanced understanding of electron transfer dynamics at natural and artificial electrified interfaces.
