Abstract:

The structure and dynamics of biomolecules (proteins, DNA etc.) determine their biological functions. A better understanding of structure/dynamics not only deepens our understanding of biology but also offers great opportunities to rationally design therapeutic & diagnotic agents for fighting human diseases. Molecular dynamics (MD) simulation is an invaluable theoretical tool to probe the structure and dynamics of biomolecules at high resolution. Fast and accurate structural predictions from MD simulations will revolutionize biomedical research: 1) provide structural details to interpret experimental data; 2) increase success rate of experiments through virtual screening. In this talk, I will present my research works regarding Alzhermer’s disease, type II diabetes, cancer and AIDS along this great trend.
